Awesome camping weekend

We went camping this weekend outside Fort Collins and had such a nice time. While we were packing, Ben was whining and whining, I suppose because he wasn't getting any attention, or perhaps he didn't feel good. Anyway, once we got going and he had a nap in the car, he was so happy to be out in nature. He loves playing with sticks and pinecones and rocks, and driving his matchbox cars over logs and big rocks. I actually love it when he gets really dirty too. Of course, nature dirt is very different to me than Walmart floor dirt, and much "cleaner." I found a book here at the library called "Grub, The Bush Baby," about Jane Goodall's son when he was under two and they were in Africa. Imagine a boy growing up in Africa - no plastic toys, no video games - total nature boy. So that's what Ben was to us this weekend - he was "Grub." We camped near a trail and Ben wanted to visit with all the dogs and horses that went by on the trail. He's super cute when he points and exclaims in his gibberish about something, and turns to tell you about it.
How nice to have a sweet little companion to camp with us!
